Trauma Toolbox
Trauma can come in many forms much like other issues that we deal with, it is a spectrum ranging from less to more severe traumatic experiences. Nonetheless, the effects of any kind of trauma can be devastating and it can be difficult to life live and/or rebuild. That is why it’s so important to learn new skills and ways to cope with the symptoms that can plague us and prevent us from living our full potential. It’s like that old saying, if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Imagine trying to build a house with just hammer and nails! This can be said about trauma. Trauma cannot be fixed with one singular coping skill. We need to have a diverse set of skills in our “toolbox” so that we use the right tool for the job. The following article discusses how to create a toolbox to help you cope with your trauma and how trauma doesn’t mean you’re broken.
